Despite all my blogging blabber about makeup, I have lots of other interests and hobbies. From watercolor painting and doll collecting to..yes..video games! My favorite childhood pastime has been reawakened with the pending release of Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizon. I picked up this game for the first time last year with the 3DS handheld system; now I am ready to hop into it with the Nintendo Switch version. I am so glad I waited for the game’s release before purchasing this new game system, as recently I was able to pre-order a special edition version of the Switch; themed for Animal Crossing. It’s super cute! Now that I have a new game system on the way, I have been enjoying the process of looking up games, watching gameplays on YouTube and trailers for new releases. So today, I’m sharing what’s on my game wishlist.

Animal Crossing New Horizon
This is the game series that started it all for me with New Leaf on Nintendo 3DS. I am quite new to video games; not having played any since Sega Genesis’ Sonic and the original Playstation with Tekken. This was a nice game to ease my way back into it and rediscover what I like in video games. The easy-going-no-pressure adventure game focused on building a world and discovering new things is fun for me. I really like the new animation and customization of New Horizon.
Luigi’s Mansion 3
I saw this game debut at the recent E3 conference and immediately thought I would enjoy it. I’m not a fan of the traditional Mario games (don’t stone me…) but this one looks fun! Cute characters and a fun adventure hunting ghosts and goblins to rescue Mario. What’s not to love.
Super Mario Odyssey
Similar to the bubbly and fun art style of Luigi’s Mansion 3, Super Mario Odyssey is another game I think I will enjoy, accept this time Princess Peach needs saving (what else is new?) This game was also recommended to me by a mutual friend of Mr. Right’s 🙂 I trust his judgement.
Boyfriend Dungeon
I stumbled upon this game while watching Nintendo Switch unboxing videos and I’m so glad I did! It is due to release this year (so hopefully soon). It reminds me a lot of the anime Soul Eater, where weapon and wielder come together to form a working relationship and weapons have a human form. This is a dating simulation game as well as a dungeon crawl adventure that I’ve not seen before. Characters are diverse in gender and race; which makes it fun for all.
Super Crush K.O.
The premise of this game is an alien babe breaks into your room and steals…your cat named Chubbz? Your quest is to find out who she is and get your precious fur baby back. The story seems a bit shallow from what I’ve gathered from gameplay videos (but I hope I’m wrong). Nevertheless, the artwork style drew me in for a fun shooter game. It reminds me of the mobile/PC game, Robot Unicorn in it’s dashing controls.
Hallow Knight
How is it even possible that a game could be spooky cute? Well, this one achieves it. Despite my disdain for bugs/insects and creepy crawlers, this game’s main character (a princess-protector named Hornet) and enemies are all cute bugs. The art style is nice with a doom-and-gloom color palette. I can’t wait to take off with this one.
Hallow Knight: Silk Song
I can’t say for sure that this story is a continuation of the first Hallow Knight, but nevertheless, they both have interesting adventures that I’d like to go on. 🙂 In this game, your main character is Hornet, a princess-protector. (I am liking the sound of that!)
Bayonetta
This is what I consider one of the more serious games; one with a fully developed story, characters and enemies. I have zero hand-eye coordination for games with lots of menus and action on screen, but I’m willing to learn for Bayonetta. Who doesn’t want to be a kickass babe in latex, with glasses and stiletto boots that double as twin guns?!
My honorable mention games include: EarthNight, Streets of Rage 4 and Super Mario Smash Brothers. They aren’t my immediate to-buy list, but I am interested in playing!
