I’m back with another Weekly Wrap Up. Doing these periodically really helps get my thoughts out on all that happens on a day-to-day basis at once. Not every day I have the time or energy to journal (like I’d want), so this makes up for it 🙂

Work Life
The early part of the year at my work place consists of fresh new designs and being brought to the beginning of how things operate. I am glad to be a part of this and see how everything evolves. When I started, I began at the end of the year’s processes. So far, I have had my hand in every design aspect from packaging to product concept and design. It’s fun and exciting!
Home Life
I’ve talked to a few friends, family members and co-workers and they all have said similar stories when it comes to moving into a new home. It takes time to settle in. Even if you have the disposable income to decorate instantly at your leisure, it still takes time to come together. It’s a process you can’t rush and one that you should enjoy..slowly. I will admit, in the last month or so I completely got overwhelmed with getting things together for my own personal space. I’m happy to report that I feel much better now after talking to Mr. Right and working through my anxiety.
For most, this may not have been such a big deal. After all, when you move into your own home their literally is a million and one other important things to be done, other than making sure your home office is complete. However, a lot of my personal functionality revolves in my personal space. I’m a creature of order. I like things to have it’s own permanent place. I perform my best when my work environment is neat and orderly. When I moved things were either: 1) Completely empty or 2) Complete chaos. With no in between. It literally drove me mad! I tried to handle things on my own and be a good wife-to-be, but the short story is that I can’t do everything on my own. My attempts at making a house into a home for my fiancĂ© and I were stressing me out, only because I was forgetting the most important part. What makes a home isn’t the stuff, it’s the people there. I wasn’t asking for help from the one person who I needed most…Mr. Right. Once I asked for help, things all fell into place and I look forward to the next step in this process. My Babe Cave is almost complete! I just have to find the right desk seating and then I can work on decorating (like rugs and wall art!)
Creative Life
This week I participated in the company’s annual report cover contest. The prizes were too good to pass up! (Who doesn’t need an extra $2,000 in their account!?) Any funds I win will be going towards new equipment to better my artwork. I’ve had my eye on an iPad + Procreate program for quite awhile. Learning to do digital drawing and painting is my ultimate goal along with improving my handwriting style.
I also launched my new hobby blog, Dollie-Love.com I’m so proud at how it turned out and all my followers seem to enjoy it as well. My last website to get up and running is my art blog/portfolio. I’m so excited for it!
Overall, I am blessed and I can’t complain. Sometimes I forget this year was supposed to be the year of Gratitude for me. It’s easy to let life troubles sweep you away, but I have a lot to be thankful for and their’s more to come!
