What’s up beauties! This past couple of weeks I have been testing out the new Wet n Wild PhotoFocus Foundation. Over the last year, this budget beauty brand has been releasing some pretty awesome and on trend products for an affordable price. Wet n Wild has expanded their foundation line and after seeing that brown-girl-friendly shades were added, I had to try it out!

The new PhotoFocus Foundations retails for $4.99 at Walmart, but can be found at other drugstores and beauty sections. I purchased the color Cocoa. Firstly, this shade is slightly too dark for me and I am thinking the shade Toffee would be more suitable. In all, there are eight shades suitable for medium to dark skin tones for women of color.

Pros
Right away, I could tell that this foundation was definitely matte. I have been wearing the L’Oreal True Match foundation for several years and the difference of the two is obvious. I recommend blending and working quickly with the PhotoFocus as once its dried down, it can be hard to blend. Once the foundation is blended, however, it melts flawlessly into the skin with minimal rub off, prior to pressed powder setting. The wear on this foundation is pretty much the same as my tried and true foundation. I usually do my makeup around 7am and wear it all day until round 6pm. That’s almost a full 12 hours of wear. I always get oily on my nose by the end of the day, so that is to be expected.

Cons
I will say, although this foundation is relatively sheer and easily buildable to full coverage, it does settle into fine lines and can appear caked. If you have laugh lines, this foundation will accentuate them.

Final Review: 4/5
Overall, I have been enjoying this product, I just have to be cautious of how I use it. So far, this foundation has been working wonderfully in the cold weather days by giving me a flawless matte look that doesn’t dry out my skin and make it patchy. I find this to be a great replacement. I really like that fact that the color, for me, is one bottle. I usually have a hard time finding a match that doesn’t require me to mix two bottles (and spend twice the money). Best of all, it’s half the price of my usual buy. I highly recommend giving it a try!
