I am giving my Juvia’s Place palettes a break this week as I test out the new Summer Collection from JeffreeStar Cosmetics! In my recent Beautylish Haul post, I talked about picking up the bundle of both Jawbreaker palettes being offered. Today, I want to share my final thoughts with you on this palette. Love it? Hate it? Let’s dive in!

The JSC Summer 2019 collection did not disappoint with it’s Jawbreaker theme. Neon chartreuse green with paint splatter color all over was the main decoration and I like it! It’s bright and fun, with sweet-like-candy names; reminiscent of Jeffree’s love for candy, no doubt. The eyeshadow in this Mini Breaker palette ($28 USD) contains nine shades:
- Double Scoop – matte mustard yellow orange shade
- Orange Crush – matte orange shade with golden glitter
- Foreplay – light matte magenta pink
- Oral – metallic duo chrome pink/purple/blue with multicolor shimmer
- Purple Punch – matte red toned purple
- Slice – bright metallic yellow gold
- Bubble Gum – matte baby pink
- Bite Me – metallic royal purple with purple shimmer
- Hot Fudge – matte cool toned taupe brown
Honestly, this assortment of colors is something I would have never came up with on my own and I even was a bit unsure if I could get them all to work together; especially with that weird shade of taupe brown. However, everything blended seamlessly together and the colors were harmonious! If you enjoy Sunset colored makeup, you’ll love this palette. I really appreciate JSC branching out to create smaller palettes with the budget-beauties in mind. This also gives those who haven’t tried JSC before, a change without investing too much money. I hope Jeffree Star releases more mini palettes in the future!

Swatches
Both metallics and mattes swatched beautifully! Not all JSC mattes are created equal, but I am happy to know the majority of them were pigmented and not patchy. On the eyes, Purple Punch may need a little more love, but nothing a sticky eyeshadow base can’t fix.

Makeup Looks
Here are the makeup looks I came up with during the work week. I also tested the waters and gave Hot Fudge a spotlight look of it’s own. I love colorful palettes that have at least one “everyday” wearable color. This works well for those who are just easing into colorful makeup and only add color as accents.

Final Thoughts
Rating: 5/5
For under $30, I think you get some really good quality eyeshadows as well as larger pan sizes, despite it only being nine shades. They all work well together and I can still come up with a variety of looks. Purple Punch isn’t the best matte purple in the world, but isn’t the worst, either. I recommend using a sticky eyeshadow base to get the most pigmentation from it. Overall, if you’re looking for #hotgirlsummer makeup, this is it! Be warned, if you purchase the larger Jawbreaker palette, that two of the shades in THIS palette, are also duplicated.
