As the holidays near, it’s no surprise that all the popular beauty brands are trying to one-up each other and releasing specialty items earlier than usual. My October 2019 Wishlist includes Anastasia Beverly Hills and Huda Beauty.
Anastasia Beverly Hills x NORVINA

One brand that has been shelling out new products left and right is Anastasia Beverly Hills. The secret is out, that the new and beloved sister brand NORVINA is making big moves at Sephora, world wide! I became a fan of ABH/Norvina brand with their debut of the Norvina Pro Pigment Palettes a couple months ago. Norvina, the daughter to owner Anastasia of ABH, has branched out with her own collection of cosmetics, under the ABH name. These items will specially be sold at Sephora, complete with their own gondola section in stores. I hate shopping at Sephora, but I’d visit just to get a look at this in person. I love all that Norvina is doing and how her collection differs from the offerings of ABH.

As far as I know, this is the last Norvina release for the year…two mini pro pigment palettes. I immediately wanted them when I saw them, but I am 99.9% sure that the colors in each 9-pan palette, are close dupes from those included in the three larger pro pigment palettes. Norvina states online that the shades are different, but on my brown girl skin who is she kidding? π Nevertheless, I still want them!

One of my favorite things about the pro pigment palettes was the awesome packaging. It feels like high-end makeup (and it should for the price tag!). It seems this same hard, heavy-duty plastic packaging will be mirrored in these mini palettes as well. I really enjoyed the 9-pan palette Mini Breaker Palette that JeffreeStar released a couple months ago and I’d like to own more color assortments like it.
HUDA Beauty Mercury Retrograde Palette

Over the past month I have been casually eyeing the cosmetic brand HUDA Beauty. I’ve not tried anything from this brand before, but after seeing this spring up on @trendmood‘s Instagram (which is a money draining rabbit hole of cosmetic releases, by the way), I knew I had to have it. Of course, the name and the palette aesthetic drew me in, but the color palette kept me staring. I am waiting awhile on this one so I can see more reviews crop up. Sadly, I didn’t enjoy the JeffreeStar Cosmetics Jawbreaker palette OR the Sugarpill Fun Size pastel palette as much as I thought I would, with those pastel shades. I want to love them, but so far I haven’t found the ones for me, I suppose. This palette retails for $67 USD before tax and shipping which is much more expensive than others I’ve purchased in the past. π The new Carli Bybel x ABH palette also gives me the same vibe as this, which is $45 USD. I am on the fence about either one but I wouldn’t mind owning them!
I don’t plan to buy these, but I thought it was worth mentioning that a matching cosmetic bag and three dual-ended brushes are in this collection as well for $40 USD (which is a rip-off. These holographic PEVA material bags are everywhere in stores now!)

Well, that’s about it for this month’s cosmetics that I am drooling over. I know JeffreeStar and Shane Dawson are releasing a cool new collab on November 1st that includes pig shaped hand mirrors and bags. I don’t know much about Shane Dawson other than he’s a YouTuber and not in the beauty sense…so I’m not sure what was the driving force for such an odd collab. However, from the sneak peaks I am mildly interested. Until next time!
I do want to try out these new mini palettes . They look really pretty . Plus after seeing swatches and looks with volume 2 , I might be sold on the color story as well .
If you haven’t already invested in the larger pro pigment palettes by Norvina/ABH, than these minis will do just fine! You honestly don’t need them all. The reviewer/collector in me just couldn’t pass them up, but I honestly was a bit underwhelmed just by the size. They are great products, nonetheless!
