As of late, I have been on a roll with my Glamlite Cosmetics reviews and I have to say, the party train isn’t stopping any time soon. December is my birthday month! I have been celebrating by treating myself to a lot of new makeup products. I haven’t gotten everything photographed for my official Birthday Haul post, but hopefully I’ll have it up before the month is out.
Today, I am gushing over the Glamlite Cosmetics Cake palette. This indie brand is know for their fun food themed products from eyeshadow palettes to eyelashes. I’ve collected quite a few of their products this month but one I keep going back to is this palette! The Cake palette is priced at $40 USD but you can always use the discount code GLAM15 for 15% OFF your purchase. Glamlite also hosts a lot of sales through out the year (especially this past Black Friday) and bundle deals; so I highly recommend checking back frequently.
The Packaging
So far, I have never been disappointed with GL’s p packaging. It’s not only cute, but functional and protective. I haven’t had any issues with broken eyeshadows showing up in the mail. The Cake palette has a die cut shape with an adorable outer box that is designed to look like a little oven with cake inside! The inside of the palette also has a large mirror for a full view while you’re getting glam. I also like how the flap of the palette easily folds backwards, if you want to set it down on any flat surface.

The Palette
The Cake palette comes with eight high shine metallic shadows and twelve buttery matte eyeshadows for a total of 20 shadows in total. Each shadow also has it’s name conveniently printed on the palette; so no losing insert sheets!

Swatches
Like with most palettes, arm swatches are no indication of how they perform on the eyes, however these sure are impressive to see! The sparkle in these metallics are beautiful and do not flake off when applied. Together, these shades make a beautiful assortment of rainbow colors for endless amounts of colorful looks.

Makeup Looks
I have pretty much utilized this palette every day since it arrived to me in the mail! Wether I am using it for a complete look, or simply grabbing a shade or two to compliment other shadows, its a must have from Glamlite. Here are three looks I’ve created with the majority of the shadows coming from the Cake palette.

Colors Used: Pineapple, Peach, Cranberry, Cinnamon, Raspberry, and Chocolate

Colors Used: Cranberry, Raspberry, Purple Frost, Strawberry, Lavender, and Birthday Cake

Colors Used: Dulce de Leche, Chocolate, Carrot, and Cinnamon
Final Thoughts
Rating: 5/5
I am beyond pleased with the Cake palette and its performance. The mattes do produce a bit of kick up in the pan and fall-out on the face during application, but I rather that than a dry/dusty shadow with zero pigmentation. Both matte and shimmers last all day on my eyes no matter the primer. I will advise, that these shimmers have a soft and cream- like consistency and work well when applied with a damp brush or finger tips. All shades blend seamlessly together and application is generally easy. My only con in terms of the eyeshadows are the selection of shimmer colors. This palette does not have a white or cream frost color for highlighting, or nude/beige brown for transitions so I often find myself grabbing these colors from other palettes. Generally, its easy to create a complete look though with the one palette, so I am happy!
If you’re hoping for something that is travel friendly and won’t take up much space in your makeup storage, sadly this palette is not for you. It is quite large and definitely made for being displayed. Overall, the cons are worth the trade off in my opinion!
