My birthday just passed and I’ve fulfilled my quote for gifts to myself with Black Friday shopping, but that doesn’t mean I don’t have my eye on something. Honestly, I haven’t been keeping my ear to the ground much on the latest beauty buzz or hot items and my pockets are definitely thankful for that! With my newly adopted no-buy spending habits, I’ve been able to save money for much larger and infrequent purchases; like the new Apple S8 watches I purchased for Mr. Right and I, or the $700 shopping spree I went on for a new work clothing wardrobe. Nevertheless, with the holidays around the corner it’s always hard to turn a blind eye to a good beauty deal.

Revlon One-Step Dryer and Styler
For starters, I’ve been trying to get back to a healthy hair regimen (again). I decided to texturize relax my natural 4B/4C hair in 2020. The follow 6-8 months I think I did pretty well managing my hair and keeping my hair appointments for maintenance. I loved how my hair was growing and looking. Sadly, once the fiasco happened with hurricane season and life was in a frenzy, I fell off of the routine. There was a period that I suffered some damage from braid installs (or keeping them in too long?) So now I have some breakage to battle with. With all that being said, I plan to go this weekend for a tex-lax touch up, silk press and a much needed cut. I’ve committed to the shortest bob I can stand and I’m pretty excited about it! I picked up some clip-in extensions that I’ll have the stylist cut to match the length of my hair just to put in some added volume in the areas that I am lacking.

With this new-found zest for hair care commitment, I knew I had to come up with a plan for taking care of my hair during those times I couldn’t make appointments. I always liked the blow-out results but I don’t own any heat tools that will get the job done. Usually after a wash I’ll wrap my hair until dry and just wear it like that under my wigs. I found the Revlon One-Step Dryer and Styler tool via YouTube and I’m pretty sure it’s what I need! This tool will most likely give me the results I get at the hair stylists (she uses a comb and blow dryer separately). I also found a cute storage case for this tool on Amazon. Eventually I will get these.
BeautyBay Eyeshadow Palettes
It’s no surprise that BeautyBay palettes are a favorite of mine on the blog. I’ve been purposefully ignoring their website during this time of the year, because I know I’d be in trouble! I haven’t purchased anything from there since my haul of Earthy & Midnight palettes (which I’ve thoroughly enjoyed!) I couldn’t help take a peek today, though and look what I found…
Berries 42 Color Palette
I was wondering when this would show up! When the 42 Earthy and Midnight palettes released, only a smaller version of the berries colorway came out. At last, now there is a large 42 palette to match! There’s no doubt that I love this palette and want it in my collection. Look at how yummy these colors are!

Neutral 2.0 42 Color Palette
In all honesty, the first version of this palette didn’t get much usage and I ended up gifting it to my niece for her dance makeup routine. This new 2.0 version is more my taste with the lavender purple undertones and the variety of shades! I’m happy to see just a bit of color added to this once, all brown palette. I find that anything labeled “2.0” by BeautyBay is going to be a banger. I find they take great suggestions from what the beauty community wants in a color/texture eyeshadow selection.

The best part is that you can buy these two palettes together as a bundle for a discounted price. BeautyBay is always having additional deals and coupons going on as well; so there’s another reason to purchase!
Bright 2.0 42 Color Palette
Once again another revamped large palette for me to swoon over. Once I had the Bright Matte 42 Color palette in my hands, I really didn’t enjoy it as much as I thought I would. Over the years, I find myself doing shimmer shadows on the eyelids and using only mattes for the crease and upwards for my looks. Having an all matte look isn’t frequent for me and when I do, it’s neutral (nothing this bright/bold!) Next go around, this one is on my list!

I’ll give these items a chance to be on my mental wishlist for a month or so before I fully commit. That has been the rule as of late with shopping. If I am still thinking of it and have use for it in 30 days, then it must be worth going for! In the meantime I have plenty of beauty products to achieve the look I want and you know…there’s bills and shit. 🙂 Before long it’ll be March and our big Boston trip will be here. I definitely want to be sure I have extra spending money; ’cause what’s a vacation without shopping?!
