A couple of months ago I gushed in my June 2019 Makeup Wishlist over the JeffreeStar Cosmetics Summer release this year. Well, I am here to tell you, that ya’ girl finally got her hands on some of it! π I only picked up the eyeshadow palette bundle, this go around. Thanks to Beautylish, I was able to use their awesome Flexible Payments plan to have my cake and eat it, too. (I mean hell, I have major bills y’all!) I have only shopped with BL on one other occasion and the experience was great. This time around, things got a little rocky. π

A Brief Overview of Beautylish & My Experience
In short, Beautylish is an online retailer that works to distribute various high end and indie brand cosmetics and skincare products, all from one place. What sets it apart from websites like Ulta Beauty and Sephora is:
- BL only offers a selection of brands; not everything (like drugstore cosmetic lines)
- Items are stored and shipped from the USA (California, to be exact) and there is only a single distribution center that services World Wide customers.
- They offer layaway…basically. Their Flexible Payments allow you to break up your purchases that are $50 and over into two, three, or four interest free, monthly payments. You pay your first installment and your items are shipped to you..just make your payments as promised, to pay it off!

Beautylish also prides itself on it’s personable shopping experience, with careful packaging and even handwritten notes. I find this all to be true. I do feel special when opening up their packages. Everything is so neat, pristine, and gift wrapped. However, not every delivery goes as planned and things happen…as it was in my case. I ordered my JeffreeStar Cosmetics Eyeshadow Bundle ($75 USD). I was in the process of taking photos of me opening the box to post on Instagram. All was going as expected after opening the JSC Mini Jawbreaker palette. However, things quickly went awry as I got to the bottom of the box and saw navy blue dust on everything π I tried not to fear the worst as I opening the Jawbreaker palette..until my hands became covered in navy blue powder! I was so disappointed when I opened it and saw the disastrous state this palette was in! π π‘ I’m not entirely sure all of this is transit’s fault, as my first palette was perfectly fine. I honestly think it was damaged even before BL packaged it, but I digress…
I contacted Beautylish right away and received a response very quickly to submit photos with my invoice. After that…I heard nothing, until I contacted them again via LiveChat the following day. Things seemed to get moving after that, and I was offered a refund or a replacement. I still very much wanted this palette, so I opted for the replacement.
Story to be continued as I am still waiting for the replacement’s arrival (estimated a week from now)…

JeffreeStar Cosmetics Mini-Breaker Palette

So, for now, I will show you all the JSC Mini-Breaker palette and update once I have the large one π Right off the bat, I can tell I am going to enjoy this one. Despite their only being nine shadows, compared to the larger palette’s 24 eyeshadows, I can get quite a few combination looks with this. I can’t wait to put it to the test! The mattes do kick up a lot of dust in the pan; something I am familiar with. I did experience a bit of fall out when swatching so I’ll have to be careful when working on my eyes. The metallics/shimmers are bright, bold, and silky to the touch.
Swatches

What do you think of these colors? I am excited and can’t wait to play in these. I will be sharing my thoughts on the quality and performance of each shadow in a later post! π
